Jeep Safari – MOAB

This year Maegan and I made some goals this year to go on more adventures! To start we decided to start exploring some wonders in our own backyard. We have found ourselves in Utah for quite some time and haven’t  taken the time to explore some of many wonders this state is known for.

We, recently acquired a Jeep Wrangler, and have really enjoyed taking it offload. So to kick our summer adventures off we made our way down south to Moab for the annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari hosted by the Red Rock 4-Wheelers! We wanted to really test our wits and the capabilities of our jeep, so what better place.

With a little under 200 miles of road covered  in about 3 hours, Maegan, Maycee (the dog) and I were enjoying the sights, hikes, local fare, shops, and camping of Moab! Going into town we didn’t know what to expect. I had this idea that it was just a sleepy dusty old town.  Moab really surprised us. It was dusty, (we still have dust in our jeep!) but definitely not sleepy. With the Easter Jeep Safari going on, there were several hundred jeeps in and around downtown.

We met some really cool folks from all over even as far as Canada. While on the trails we tested our nerves and limits of our jeeps…some of the guys found them.  We didn’t do anything too crazy was we still needed to drive ours jeep home.

We were craving some food and found ourselves at a great mexican food restaurant called La Hacienda. I have to say it was pretty good!IMG_1303We finally settled down in camp at Slick Rock that afternoon and got ready for tomorrows Safari.IMG_6921Our friends Hannah & JadenIMG_6929The next morning we started our first trail at 7:30, it was 40 degrees!IMG_9998IMG_0003Airing down at Seven Mile Rim trail headIMG_0011IMG_6950IMG_0014IMG_0020IMG_0996IMG_6997IMG_1453IMG_0055IMG_0042After a day on the tail, sun and dust we needed something cool and refreshing.
